One misstep...something we all do thousands of times each day...and a life is forever changed.  That is what happened to David Murren III

A young man just doing his job, finishing up on a roof his company was installing, has resulted in devastating injuries.  On Thursday, December 27, 2018, he fell from the second story onto concrete below.  His injuries include a shattered skull, broken bones in his face from his nail gun hitting him, 3 broken neck bones, 4 broken vertebrae (one that will need surgery to repair), complete deafness in his right ear, and hands and wrists that are severally broken and will need extensive surgeries to repair.

My name is Daniel Chapanar and my wife, Kathy, and I own the hair salon where David's father rents a station from us.  David's father and mother have had there own share of health crises this year, with his mom, Tina, having an extended hospital stay at the beginning of the year that was very touch and go for many days, and Dave II had emergency gall bladder surgery several months back that had complications resulting in him losing about 30 pounds in a week.  He was just getting back to some semblance of normalcy when he received the call about his son while working in the salon.

David is currently at MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland.  He is employed by Unique Home Solutions as a roofer.  We are starting this campaign to raise funds for this entire family.  Our ultimate hope and goal is to raise $100,000, and with God's help and yours, I know this to be achievable.  This would allow the family to forget about work, bills, and the trivialities of life that we all call important until something like this happens, and concentrate on the only thing that matters right now, the recovery of their son.  That amount would also give David needed funds for himself as the grind of rehabilitation drags on, probably for at least all of 2019 and possibly beyond.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  The Murren family thanks you.  But most importantly of all, The Lord of all Creation thanks you.

May God Bless you this day and every.

Still waiting on some pics from David's father but AMAZINGLY, he went home to his mom and dad's yesterday, 5 weeks to the day since his fall. Mom and dad are VERY NERVOUS with him not being under someones's care 24/7, but apparently someone thinks it's time...hopefully not the insurance company. Hate to think that but we all know it is true. David's hands are actually what seem to be giving him the most problems, with a lot of pain curling his fingers. I guess the prayers that are needed now are for continued healing and no problems in the home. The last thing they need is a slip and fall where he would land on his hands or worse, his head. Mom and dad are very happy to get back to some normalcy but they also know the journey is not over yet.

Thanks again to all of you from all of us.

God's blessings to one and all.

I was hoping to have some pics to put up but I have not received any from David's father, but I can report that his amazing recovery is well on track. David is currently in rehab at Edwin Shaw and they are already talking about his release and heading home...well his mom and dad's home. This is exciting and nerve racking all in one for them. With all his injuries they are very nervous since they cannot have someone be with him 24/7 that something might happen when they are away ( a fall or something like that) and he end right back in hospital, but of course they are thrilled beyond belief that he is healing and seemingly pretty rapidly. It is 6 weeks ago today since the accident. Amazingly from what we know, he is not in a clamshell body suit, and the only parts of him bandaged are his hands/wrists. We still have not met him though we are excitedly looking forward to that day, but with everything going on in his recovery, we have felt like waiting is the best option.

Please continue your prayers for David and his mother and father and family. The road is a heck of a lot shorter than before but they still have quite a ways to go to get to the finish line.

God's blessings to all.

Hello everyone. It was 3 weeks ago yesterday that David's life changed so drastically. He was all set to go to rehab on Wednesday but had to have an unexpected surgery on his neck. The procedure went well and now rehab may be today or in very near future. He was in tremendous pain although I believe that is subsiding but with so many broken bones, I cannot imagine what he is experiencing. About a decade ago I broke 3 ribs and that pain took my breath away for months. Sneezing was the worst. Please keep him and his family lifted in prayer. This has been an EXTREMELY difficult first few weeks of the new year for all of them. Especially taxing is the fact that David is in hospital in Cleveland and the family is from Canton area. Rehab will be in the new Edwin Shaw facility, which we have heard is simply amazing. Keep you updated as info is received.

Thank you once again...what a blessing you all have been.
