Ron's fight against cancer

Hello, my name is Athena. My brother, sister, and I created this campaign on behalf of our parents, specifically our father, Ron. Our dad, a Marine Corps veteran, was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the lymph nodes on the left side of his neck in early January. After many tests, they could not find the cancer anywhere else. However, this type of cancer doesn't occur in the lymph nodes and therefore must have metastisized there from somewhere else in his body. He underwent surgery in early March to remove the cancerous lymph nodes and surrounding tissues that may have been affected but the primary source of the cancer was never located.
He has had to miss a lot of work for doctors’ appointments, surgery, and post-surgical healing. Once he is fully recuperated from the surgery, he will have to undergo chemotherapy and daily radiation treatments to ensure that no cancer remains in his body. He will become sick and weak and have to miss more work.
Our dad has been the sole provider for our mother, who also has health issues, for many years and will be unable to keep up with the regular everyday bills, let alone the medical bills that are already rolling in. We are assisting in every way that we can, but are unable to accommodate the ever growing medical expenses.
This is where we need you. We are asking for donations to assist in paying for the part of the chemotherapy, radiation treatments, doctor's visits, and medical tests that are not covered by his insurance. ALL of the funds raised in this campaign will immediately go towards paying medical bills and expenses involved with his cancer treatments. By donating, you are helping to alleviate these stressful expenses so that he can focus on healing.
We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in helping our dad. He always worked hard to provide for us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to provide for him.
If we raise more money than is needed for these medical bills, the excess money will be donated to another GOFUNDME campaign for someone else who is battling cancer.
