This is my friend Ron (with the guitar). That's me singing with him. Ron is a musician, a good friend, and a great singer. He has the heart of a lion and the soul of a busker (one who doesn't need a stage to sing.)

He needs a little boost, He moved to San Francisco and just needs to get over the hump. Nothing spectacular, just enough to get over the wall of surviving day to day so he can stabilize. He's big on helping, but not on asking, so I'll ask for him. I'll vouch for him: if you can trust anyone to pay it forward, he's the man.

So, the California Dream officially comes to an end. Never being one to give up, this is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do. But, we don't belong here. That's clear now, We belong back there. We could live there, have a life. We cannot here. We can only exist. That's not what we came out here for. The "poverty line" in San Francisco is $106,000, and that's unaffordable for most people, including These two cats!

So, I/we will take our final BART ride, to SFO, on April 11, 2018, at 5:39pm. We will arrive at 6:15am April 12, 2018.

Which leads me to the next issue. We will REALLY be homeless when we get back!! SOOOO, does anyone have a spare room or basement that we can stay in while we get our feet back under us? Or, do you know of someone...?

My busking days are officially over in San Francisco. I will be returning to Shady Grove Monday, April 16th, weather permitting, of course. (that feels really weird to say, now.). Annapolis, seeya soon!!!

I will always, always, always love the City of San Francisco. I've met some truly awesome, amazing people here. And, the weather? I'm cool with year-round spring/fall!!! Other than the Tenderloin, it is truly a beautiful city. And, busking here is not as weather-dependent as Maryland.

They celebrated the 50 year anniversary of The Summer of Love. There was no love. Telling: as large as Ripple plays in Maryland, it's the polar opposite here. This is "The New San Francisco", or so it's been labeled. It's no longer "my" San Francisco. That was the San Francisco that will live in my heart forever.

And, it hasn't been all bad. Some great, WONDERFUL!!!, things have happened along the way!! For one, and most importantly, Shelby became while out here. Prompted by Deryk, who made the comment early "I can't wait to hear the writing that comes from this, Ron!", we made the decision early on that we were going to turn this negative experience into a positive. San Francisco has thrown us lots and lots of lemons. So, we're "Making Lemonade". Watching him blossom despite of yet due to the very (mostly) negative experience has been awesome!

Anyway, so there ya have it. I, and we, gave it everything I/we had. Our best isn't good enough for out here. We've heard the message loudly and clearly.

In the meantime, since I won't be busking here anymore, we have an $900 gap to bridge between the 21st and the 12th. So, if you can, it's greatly appreciated; if you can't, I love ya anyway. Either way, please share this wherever you can.

Oh, and from the "This Just In" department: went to move the car closer to the hotel room only to find that Misty has been stolen. Enough.

So, yeah...that's where things are right up to the moment.

Goodbye, San Francisco. I only wish you loved me like I loved you.

Hi everyone! I want to thank those of you who have donated to this as well as the most recent fundraiser.

So, to give you an update of how your donations have been helping me, I was able to get the radiator on my car fixed;! That was exciting, for sure! However, it turns out that more needed to be done. So, she still isn't on-the-road. I already have the part that needs to be replaced, the thermostat, and it will be installed this weekend. So, thank you all for that.

Other than that, you have allowed us to get out of the incredibly cold and increasingly cramped car and into a hotel room. That's a step forward!! So, again, THANK YOU!!

Being in this hotel for the past few months, while very expensive at roughly $2,400 a month, has allowed us to begin to stabilize somewhat. But, there's still a very long way to go!! I'm looking at losing my car in May, which isn't that far away. That would be that backbreaking straw.

So, thank you all again for your donations, on both campaigns. And, please, please, please continue to share this.
