'Leap of Faith' by Ron Goggin

Welcome,
I am hoping to introduce you to my 'Leap of Faith',  should it mean something to you.  Normally, I was a service worker, but also, I am a songwriter,  who has suffered a debilitating stroke, and have also recently undergone brain aneurysm surgery.  Along, with a stent in my right carotid artery and bypass surgery on my left carotid artery.  Since I have always worked with my hands, often with high ladder, my livelihood is dependent on my physical strength, balance and agility.  As a result, I have had to create this page to help with my recovery and transition to a less physically demanding  process of making a living.

Since I am no longer able to work at my lifelong trade,  your support, would be immensely appreciated, and be utilized for medical and transportation costs, or my living situation. To say that coming back from what is to me, an uncompromising stroke, and four subsequent major surgeries; one after the other, depends largely on the compassion of others,  would not be an overstatement.

The only thing  I have to offer for your support is my music,  which has always helped me through hard times, and I would like to share some of it,  despite,  I would venture to say, that I am now a quintessential, struggling songwriter.

As a musical act with full accompaniment, I was once also known as ‘Pariahdise'.

If you can appreciate original music offered up for your entertainment or evaluation, then if you please, the amount you might spare , does not matter, and I will gladly email out a high quality mp3 of 'Leap of Faith', or any other song you may like, for any size contribution.  Simply, request it in when you donate as a  comment.  I am receiving no medical or financial help from the government, being too young (56) for medicare, and living in a state ranked 49th in the USA, where, in regard to medicaid, I do not qualify;  even as my potential for social security disability, is precariously pending.  Also, with no children, or immediate family support, I am now facing homelessness, at best. So, as I try to find my way past all this, before my health deprives me of all of my dignity as well, it seems I must undertake this new, hard and humbling, leap of faith..

Leap of Faith

I'm off, I'm on my way, I'm leaving the past behind me,
I'm gone, no more looking back, I see a brand new world in front of me.
No grudge, have I ever held, against those who would doubt me,
A ray of hope, and a little faith, is all I need to sustain me.

When all was lost, I looked around but there was only me.
I made, a leap of faith, I made myself believe.

Sometimes, this unrelenting world, is known to get the better of me,
But I know, though I travel alone, that my leap of faith will guide me.
I've come to see, things usually are hardly what they seem,
So I'll take a leap of faith, and hold fast to a dream.

When all was lost, I looked around but there was only me.
I made a leap of faith, and it set me free.

Each song, whether on this main page, or as future updates to this gofundme campaign, was written, produced,  arranged, and mainly performed, by myself, via live guitars recorded with my computer.

Go Ahead, Dream!

Well, sometimes I feel minimized by a life I didn't choose,
People, pushing me this way, pulling me that away, telling me what to do.
So I take a break, make way down to the park,
and sit in the sun, strumming the old guitar.

Entertaining, my imaginary fans, living out my visionary plan.

Well, one day it all hit home, so I boarded a plane,
With the old guitar, I flew across the sea, to find fortune and fame,
There I was in downtown London, banging doors on Denmark street,
Playing the pubs, wherever they let me.
With no money, nothing to eat, I finally had to admit defeat.
But I followed my dream, with no idea where it would lead me, 'cos I was so tired of just existing.

Well, you may say, what's the point of your story with a lousy ending?
But it's all worthwhile if you come through it, having learned something,
It's okay to dream, it's okay to fantasize,
so go ahead, dream, follow it, it's alright.

Go ahead and dream, that you're a superstar, don't be afraid to be what you truly are.

Go ahead, dream! see where it leads you to, don't ever underestimate you.

It's okay to dream, it's okay to fantasize, so go ahead, dream! follow it, it's alright,
It's alright, It's alright.
It's alright.
