In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Remnants of Hope will be sponsoring a fundraising event to help fight breast cancer!
And we need your help to make it a success!
The primary recipient of our fundraising will be Stephanie McKinney, who is a very good friend of mine. Stephanie is an amazing woman and one of the most genuine people you could ever meet. She is a strong and proud mother who has worked tirelessly her entire life, never asking for help from anyone, who raised her son by herself and has spent her life taking care of those around her. Sadly, she was just recently diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and had to suddenly start undergoing treatment. This has unfortunately left Stephanie unable to work while she undergoes a rigorous chemotherapy regimen for the next 5-6 months and she is in dire need of help to make ends meet until she can stand on her own two feet again.
Stephanie needs $12,000 to help cover her living expenses during her treatment and help her start to make a healthy dent in her medical bills. We have set up a GoFundMe just for this event to collect donations then we'll make a donation to hers in one lump sum. Any funds raised in excess of our goal will be donated directly to The Pink Fund.
The Pink Fund is a public charity that provides financial support to help meet basic needs, decrease stress levels and allow breast cancer patients in active treatment to focus on healing while improving survivorship outcomes. If you’d rather make a general donation to this organization instead, you can do so here .
Even if you can only give $10 or $20 it will help Stephanie to pay her water bill and keep the lights on while she's unable to work during treatment and will let her focus her energies into recovering.
