Please Help Rochell Hoog
Rochelle Hoog, 25 years old, is one of the strongest people I have ever met. She has worked for me (Eric Troup) at Margaritaville Beach Hotel since April of 2014. She was First diagnosed with cancer in January 2016 with Stage 4 chronic lymphocytic leukemia and underwent 4 rounds of chemo here in Pensacola. This is rare for someone her age. She beat it and was in remission and was cancer free in August 2016. The cancer has now transformed into what they call Ritchers syndrome. It happens in 2-10% of CLL patients. She has been forced to move to Houston Texas to receive life saving treatment at MD Anderson Hospital which is a highly rated medical facility known for their work with cancer patients. Rochelle will be staying in Houston until all procedures are done. They are going to perform three rounds of harsh chemo with a combo of new non approved FDA drugs and then proceed to perform a stem cell transplant surgery. Treatments that are not approved by the FDA are not able to be covered by insurance and will cost upwards of $20,000 a month. Treatment is expected to take a minimum of 4 months. This is absolutely necessary for her survival and still doesn’t insure that her life will be saved. She will then need stem cell transplant surgery.
