QV RoboTigers Championship Trip
Queens Vocational & Technical High School's FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 1796 earned 1st place at the US FIRST Robotics NYC Regional Competition at the Jacob Javits Center (March 13-March 15)!
Our 2015 Robot, Based-God Trap Love, ready to start the match.
As the only NYC Career and Technical Education (CTE) school earning this place, comprised of dedicated former & current students as well as mentors, we are looking for donations to fund our trip to St. Louis, Missouri to compete at the FIRST Robotics World Championships (April 22-April 25). There, we will compete with and against 599 of the best robots in the world.
Please help us fund our journey to the 2015 FIRST Championship to participate and hopefully earn a win!
The drivers and some of their fellow members.
The team is an after-school program at a Title-I New York City Public School, Queens Vocational and Technical High School. This Career and Tech Ed school teaches students technical trade skills necessary to be successful in their future careers and post secondary endeavors.
The team is comprised of 28 multi-cultural students from all types of backgrounds who come together every year and spend 6 weeks building a robot together. Since past January, the students have logged more than 3,200 hours of work on the robot and preparing for the competitons.
Without our sponsors and without our mentors of the RoboTigers, we wouldn't have made it this far. Thank you sponsors! And thank you mentors!

UPDATE: 12 DAYS REMAIN UNTIL OUR DEPARTURE (AS OF 4/9/15)
In lieu of the recent campaign advancements, we would like to extend our warmest thanks to all the generous contributors who believe in our cause and continue to further our dream. As a team, we are grateful for the support we’ve received: whether it be monetary or through social media exposure.
To express our utmost gratitude, our students came up with the idea to devise a small personalized memento for each and every donor just as a small thank you. Although many are currently on spring break, there is consistent work towards this goal as well as towards the preparation and finalized logistics of the trip to Championships!
Over the course of the past few weeks, our team has been interviewed and observed by a variety of local newspapers as well as popular television stations- CNN, NY1, and PIX11 are among the few.
Below are links for the existing articles and segments. Our most recent segments (PIX11 and CNN) have not yet been published.

Additionally, here is a link to our robot’s CAD model, or computer aided design model. It was fully created by some of our dedicated student members who designed it with industry-grade, professional software.
