Northfield Highschool Robotics

We are the RoboRaiders; the local robotics team at Northfield High School.  We are part of a larger, international organization called FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), whose goal is to promote the exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Robotics takes the knowledge students gain in the classroom, and builds on it with practical experience to instill passion and curiosity in students.  The skills we learn in Robotics not only support the robotics team, but are also applicable in the workplace.  These skills include mechanics, drafting/CAD, electronics, pneumatics, programming, marketing, public speaking skills, importance of community, service, teamwork, and industrial safety practices. This varied set of skills allows a diverse group of young adults with a wide range of interests to participate in our team.  Mentors from the engineering community assist the students and teach students the skills they need to be successful.
