The Art & Science of the Everyday

The Art & Science of the Everyday (ASED), is a set of conversation starters, that explores the simple beauty and logic of the natural world. The ASED will go beyond STEM and use the cultural arts as the lens through which we explore our topics.

We, the Robeson Group, are a small, family business striving to provide consultation to those interested in novel and unorthodox approaches to teaching young children and parents how to open their minds to arts and science subjects.

A major way we are moving forward in this goal is to raise funds to support our planned launch of our YouTube Series The Art & Science of the Everyday.

This series is for everyone.  The young learner, their parent(s)/caregivers and the young at heart, those we like to call lifelong learners.  The series will cover 4 topics over 12 months, namely:

– Science of Sound
– The Electro-Magnetic Spectrum
– Inside The Atom
– Chemistry and Your Health

The funds raised will go to support the film, production (editing, sound, graphics, music, etc), equipment, travel, interviews and other supplemental tools and materials we will need to make each episode a quality experience for each viewer who chooses to tune in each month.

We need the funds to begin filming and editing to have our first full episode ready to debut on YouTube at the beginning of October, 2016.

This means a great deal to us as it will allow us to provide those who have asked us to share new content with them to do just that - by developing new material, content and suggestions on how to approach the teaching and learning of various arts and science subjects.  We will also interview a few subject area experts to add further value to the learning experience.

We will be extremely grateful to all those who support this work and will consider each supporter a valuable part of our small team.  We are offering some small rewards for your decision to support us, and we hope to start a real dialogue in early education that allows for a strong forward movement towards more impactful educational tools and methods for our youngest learners and ourselves.

It is not the young who need encouragement to explore their curiosity and wonder about the world, it is the parents who are their children's first teachers who also need support and to reconnect with their sense of wonder about the world.  With all the technological advances that are available as learning tools, it is parents that we hope will benefit most from our trial and error approach to balancing tech with hands-on experiences and experiments.  We welcome this new dialogue with you all!
