We have made this GoFundMe page to help our Mom with the mountain of debt she now faces in the wake of our father's passing. Anyone who met our dad knew him to be a selfless and hardworking man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was funny and kind, and easily made friends wherever he went. Dad was also a family man who spent most of his life providing for his wife and children. Confident that he had planned wisely he retired 15 years ago and moved with our Mom to Virginia.

Unfortunately things didn’t exactly go as he expected. It was about five years ago that he was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome or (MDS), a devastating blood disorder that robbed him of everything that made life worth living. Over that time we witnessed him transform from a strong and active man into a frail and sick one, at times barely able to care for himself. Mom always stood by his side, providing what comfort she could.

Dad is with God now, and no longer needs our help. However, Mom’s grieving is being made worse by the bills my father accumulated over this time. Without your help she will never be free from these financial concerns. They will do to her what MDS did to dad – slowly rob her of her life!

We ask that you consider what these two wonderful people have meant to your own lives. If you value the love they’ve given you, please offer what you can to help Mom through this most difficult of times.
