My name is Robby Franco, I am a Professional Skier. I will be competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics for Mexico in Slopestyle.
I have dual citizenship with USA and Mexico. I was raised in the states and grew up skiing in Lake Tahoe, California. After I graduated high school, I moved to Breckenridge, Colorado to pursue my skiing career. From there I continued to do all the major competitions on Pro Tour and World Cups!
In the summer of 2014, I reached out the Mexican Olympic Committee about joining the Mexican Ski Team. The pinnacle of the sports world is to compete in the Olympics. That has been my goal since the age of two, when I skied for the first time. This opportunity with the Mexican Ski Team allows me to fulfill that dream. It also gives me the opportunity to create a broader platform to influence other kids to try the sport I love and show them that hard work does pay off. It is my life mantra to believe in yourself, be persistent, and do whatever it takes to achieve your goals!
As I get closer to achieving my goal of competing in the Olympics it is becoming more and more expensive. As Olympic competitors, we are not only tasked with intensive training in order to prepare. We also have the task of covering our expenses to get there. We are responsible for flights,food, hotels, ski competition fees, Trainer fees, Coaching fees, and all the other basic needs necessary to make it to the Olympics. That being said, I have started this GoFundMe Campaign to help me where I need it most.
I have put my blood, sweat, tears, and love into this great sport and the last step I need is the contributions from you. Mexico has given me this great opportunity to be able to represent them and I am dedicated to doing whatever it takes. With your help, I strongly believe I will be able to raise these needed funds and follow my dream! I have been working extremely hard for this moment and believe that I can achieve a podium spot at the Olympics!
