Robbie's New Wheelchair Fund
Robbie Massengale has been coming to Camp Dream for over 10 years now. He has captured the hearts of hundreds of Camp Dream Volunteers who have seen him grow up.
Robbie has CP (cerebral palsy) diagnosis and all insurance requests/ appeals have been denied. We need your help.
Robbie is in desperate need of a new chair for a myriad of reasons listed below, which are all essential to his health and well being. We urge you to strongly consider giving and encouraging others to join you.

Medical Reasons:
1.) Proper Posturing - his posture has deteriorated so severely that he is in constant pain. His head and neck fall off the chair and he cannot observe anything on the right of his travel direction. His posture is grossly deformed because of his poor fitting seating system. His spasticity has increased.
2.) Pain Relief - to be able to sit supported and tilt to a comfortable position and relieve the pressure from his bottom. Robbie’s pain has increased and he complains of pain frequently.
3.) Choking- Robbie’s chair does not sit straight up and with his head/neck positioning he has had episodes of choking and difficulty swallowing due to positioning.
4.) Independence- Robbie continues to lose independence due to inability to see and reach controls on the chair due to improper positioning. His current chair is also malfunctioning with torque and sensitivity controls.
5.) Safety- Robbie has had accidents due to improper positioning and field of vision. Robbie has lost ability to drive himself independently. The nursing home will retest Robbie and give back his independence of driving if he has a safe chair and passes a driving test.
Current Chair:
Robbie's wheelchair is literally his vehicle, his biggest tool for remaining mobile and independent. Your donation will ensure that Robbie lives a happier, more comfortable and productive life going forward.
