Robbery Relief for my sisters family
Donation protected
(Everett, WA "“ June 9, 2012) My sister Amanda and I were working at my store, Monster Art and Clothing, when her house was broken into. She had everything all packed up to move from Everett to Ballard the next morning. Her door was kicked in, her house was ransacked, and valuable items were stolen including: a laptop with all their family photos, electronics, 2 digital cameras, 2 guitars, a base guitar, video games, CDs, DVDs, my sister's engagement ring, medications, a 357 revolver, and even their spare change jar. But it gets worse:
Amanda's partner Sasha is a well known tattoo artist in Seattle, with a shop called Dark Horse Tattoo. They have been saving up for the last 5 years to buy a new tattoo shop, with a hair salon in Ballard. My sister is getting ready to go to beauty school, and this was their dream. They were moving to Ballard to provide a better life for their 2 children, in a more kid friendly neighborhood with less crime. They were very close to their goal, and hoped to have enough money to open the shop within the next year. Tragically, their safe with $16,000 was also stolen in the robbery.
Friends and family helped my
sister move, but she's starting over feeling very discouraged. Sasha
is currently tattooing in New York, and it's been a difficult time for them to
be apart. Last week, the robbers came back, this time breaking into their
garage, stealing more items we hadn't moved yet, and throwing the rest into the
street. It makes me really glad we got my sister and the kids moved to a safe
place! We hope the police catch this guy soon, so he will stop terrorizing our
family. The man who we believe did this, is a suspect in several other Everett
robberies, and he's been very elusive. I have faith that we can
raise enough money for their dream of a new tattoo parlor to still become a
reality, but we need help from our community.
As the owner of Monster Art and Clothing in Ballard, I'm giving away gift cards to thank people for their donations. Amanda works at Monster every Saturday, let's show her that we care! If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and donate in person. We're open 7 days a week. Amanda, Sasha, their 2 kids, and the Monster family sincerely thank you.
