What Happened?
At 4:30 on Tuesday November 27th 2018 Roy of Roy's Tire Service was doing a routine mobile tire change out at a customer's business when he was run over by a dump truck on site. Roy was pinned under the truck at which point the driver had to drive back off of him, leaving his bones shattered from the waist down.
Who is Roy?
For those of you who know Roy through work, you know that he is very hard working and never takes a day off. For those of you that know him personally, you know that he is a husband, a Dad, a Grandpa and friend to many... and that he never takes a day off! To say that Roy's work ethic is described as reliable would be a gross understatement, and the same goes for his love and loyalty to his family and friends.
What do we know?
Roy has been at RCH since Tuesday and has already undergone one major surgery to save his legs. There is no current prognoses further than the fact that he will remain in the hospital for some time still and his road to recovery will be a long one.
How Can you Help?
Roy is the sole provider for his family and with him out of work until further notice, they need your help to keep going... This is where I am asking anyone who can spare a few dollars to please consider donating to the family.
Where will your money go?
All donations will go directly towards paying the mortgage, bills, food and all other day to day costs. With Roy out of work there is zero income coming in and while he is as tough as they come, he will not be able to work anytime soon.
Worth Noting: The truck driver involved in this accident is suffering enough and the family does not have any ill will towards him. The driver and his wife have been in contact with Roy's wife several times since the accident checking in on them and expressing their regret and sadness. We ask that no negative comments about the driver be spread, this was truly an accident.
I do understand that everyone is strapped for cash at this time of year and ask that whether you are able to donate money or not, that you could share this post to help get word out that the family is in need.
The Family sends so many thanks to everyone that has reached out in the last couple of days, the outcry of love has been felt and is keeping Roy's spirits high. It is that love and Roy's tough stubbornness that will indeed get him through this very difficult time.
