Road to Remission

This story belongs to my son.   The only way I really know how to tell his story is to just tell you about him.  His name is Corbin. Since he was born, almost 24 years ago, he has been our sunshine boy.  We have called him our miracle baby because he survived.  Then, even better, he thrived!!!  He grew up being true to the name I always called him..... Sunny Boy!  His mind worked in ways that made us wonder how we could possibly help him fullfill his potential.  Where our minds weren't smart enough at times.....love took care of the rest.  He was a boy that wanted to do everything and he became a  young man that  seized every moment!  He wanted to play many instruments, learn many languages, create and build.  And.....he has done just that.
He is talented, extremely intelligent, and his kindness knows no bounds.  I'm so proud of his thoughtful ways, his loving heart, and how he is always helping others.  His strength of character has never wavered over the last few years of being in pain, going through treatments, and being in and out of hospitals.
Last year he was able to marry the love of his life....building his own family.
Six months ago he discovered he was no longer in remission.  He tried so hard to to just keep going...accepting new normals.    His strength continues to amaze us.   We are his parents though, and  I can't even tell you how emotional and  heart wrenching it is to watch our vibrant and full of life son be so sick and in so much pain. We see him have days where he is unable to get out of bed at all. Then we watch him rally to go to work the next day to support his family.  His determination inspires us always!
He is a licensed contractor, so self employed, and  he has always worked very hard!
Now... he is going to have to stop for a while.  Doctors  reviewed his latest CAT Scans and  he will be having surgery in two weeks.  He will have to have a fair portion of his intestines removed and we don't know yet if he will need a colostomy bag.  He is only 24 and yet his attitude is so positive.  He just keeps telling  us it will all be okay.  That there are others going through far more than he is  and in need of  more help than him.  We agree that is true,  but he is our son and though we are a very close family and strong of faith, we know that he will also  need other help to get through this.  It will be impossible for him to pay day to day expenses, let alone the hospital bills that will follow.
So we have started this go fund me page in hopes that it will alleviate some of that stress....so he can just concentrate on getting through this and hopefully on the road to Remission!!
