My nursing placement in Sri Lanka
Donation protected
Hiiiii everyone!! My name is Lucy Johnson and I am a current second year adult nursing student at Edge Hill University.
In January 2019 I have an amazing opportunity to undertake a 4 week nursing placement in Sri Lanka! I am traveling with the company ‘Plan my gap year’.
I’m SO excited to have this opportunity as I am able to bring skills of my own over there and hopefully gain skills of the nursing technique in Sri Lanka. These skills I gain can then go on to help me improve as my training continues. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I couldn’t miss out on!
Sri Lanka has a universal healthcare system in place. However, despite low levels of health expenditures, Sri Lanka's health indicators are comparable to more developed countries in the region.
This placement that I am undertaking is completely funded BY MYSELF. As a nursing student, we get a bursary each month, which doesn’t cover half the cost. This money I gain, I will contribute to this placement. I will be very thankful for any donations big or small to help me whilst funding this trip.
The costs consist of:
Payment to be on the programme: £637
Return flights to Sri Lanka: approx £550
Vaccinations: approx £200
Visas and health insurance: approx £100.
Everything has to be paid by the 6th November!
Thank you everyone for taking time to read this ❤️❤️❤️
