Ms. Rini Roy was a very bright fifth year BVSc&AH student enrolled at COVAS Mannuthy in 2012 when she encountered a personal tragedy in 2017. She was immediately hospitalized at the Jubilee Mission hospital, Thrissur. Her condition did not improve and the senior medical team reported that the brain damage due to hypoxia was severe while her vital organs are functioning normally. She is in coma since then with doctors and family waiting for a positive response. She is still non responding and bedridden and her family is struggling to meet her high medical expenses. Her father had one leg amputated consequent to an accident. The Dean of COVAS, Mannuthy, Dr. Latha is requesting AKVNA and alumni to help the student and her family. Following the request AKVNA is starting a GoFundMe campaign for Ms. Rini Roy (RiniRoyFund - AKVNA had obtained permission to use the student’s name for the fund drive from her parents). Please contribute your generous donations to the initiative and the fund will be transferred to the COVAS PTA bank account to be distributed to Rini Roy’s family.
