Ricky Bath- House Fire

Donation protected

As many of you know, my uncle, Ricky Bath's house caught fire on Sunday(12/16/2018) afternoon and was a complete loss.
Literally leaving them with just the clothes on their back.

If you know Ricky- you know he would give you the shirt off his back or even his last dollar without hesitation.

The house was no insured.

If you so wish to donate/assist- All is welcome. All donations accepted will go to him and his needs. Red Cross has assisted with immediate needs and medication. If you would rather send a gift card- we ask for WalMart or Visa cards.  They can be mailed to:
226 Power Circle Rd    Ellabell, GA 31308

He also has 2 room mates that I'm sure he will be assisting as much as possible.  VERY little is salvagable in their rooms. One in which has cancer and isn't doing well.

The goal is to start in Janurary with demolition of the house. He hopes to have enough money by purchase a small camper to live in a temporary while rebuilding his home.

This is a picture of the kitchen.
This is a picture of Ricky's bedroom.
This is a picture of the dinning room/kitchen.
This is the room mates room. He was sleeping when the fire occured. The bedroom door kept the fire and smoke out of the bedroom giving the resident time to get out of the window. You can also see the sut on the wall. That's know as thermal layering. The smoke had already started dropping that low, filling the room.

Below is the news artical from Bryan County News:

Three North Bryan residents have reportedly lost most of their belongings after a house on Highway 80 caught fire Sunday afternoon.

Bryan County Fire and Emergency Services Director Freddy Howell said the fire was caused by “cooking that was left unattended.”

He said firefighters arrived around 5 p.m. to find smoke and flames visible. Highway 80 had to be closed briefly so fire crews could “operate safely” Howell added.

“Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and salvage some of the property inside,” Howell said. “Only one of the three residents was home at the time of the fire and managed to escape the structure through a window before fire crews arrived. There were no reported injuries at the scene.”

One of the victims is apparently related to Bryan County FEMS Lt. Victoria Pape, who posted on Facebook that not only was the house a total loss and most of the three residents’ belongings ruined, but one of the home’s residents has cancer.

Howell said that the one person home when the fire started was able to get out of the home due to being in a bedroom with a closed door.

“Sleep with your bedroom door closed,” he said. “The bedroom door kept the fire and smoke out of the bedroom giving the resident time to get out of the window.”
