After having worked with the Salvation Army ARC in Detroit for the last 12 years, my tenure came to a sudden end at the conclusion of 2017 when a new administration came aboard. I was devastated after having been a part of the ministry for so long.
Although I didn't understand at the time why this was happening to me, I would soon learn that it was God who did it - and he did it for a reason,...to move me to another level in ministry. Sometimes God has to take something from us in order to give us something NEW.
I didn't know what my future would be until I got a call with a brand new offer on Christmas day. Six weeks later I am very excited to have been considered and now confirmed to be the newest addition to the Administrative staff of the Salvation Army's counseling department in Boston, Massachusetts. I will be a new and fresh voice of hope for men and women of Boston who are facing crisis and/or addiction. I will also utilize my gifts in ministry for their Sunday morning services as I help provide a word for those seeking salvation.
I just received word of my confirmation on Wednesday and must be on the job by this coming Wednesday February 7, 2018. Moving from my home here in Detroit will be my biggest challenge and I realize I will need help. I am humbly asking for the help of a few friends who believe in me and can help me reach my goal of $3000 toward my move.
I believe God has ordained this transition, now I must do my part and move on it.
