What Happened
On Tuesday, February 20th, 2018, two days after their 34th wedding anniversary, our parents, Rhonda and Roger were in a motorcycle accident. They collided into each other at the busy intersection of Hiedelbach and Diamond Ave around 4:28 pm.

Dad sustained injuries to his hand and lower leg that were treated in the Emergency Room. Mom sustained multiple injuries including a broken arm, facial, rib, and skull fractures, and contusions in two areas of her brain.

Mom's contusions were the most traumatic, and injured the Wernicke's and Broca's areas of her brain. These areas are responsible for interpreting and forming speech. Her symptoms include difficulty speaking, understanding speech, word recall, reading and writing.

Mom was in intensive care for 5 days and in an in-patient hospital room for 1 day.  She was released from the hospital on 2/26/2018 and will be starting in-home rehabilitation 2/28/2018.

We could not be more thankful for her progress!

How You Can Help
Many friends and family have asked how they can help.

Monetary donations.
To cover the cost of mom and dad's medical bills and rehabilitation. Your donations help to alleviate the worry associated with the financial burden and allow our parents to focus on what is most important. A full and complete recovery for Mom.

Home cooked meals or gift cards to local restaurants. Due to Mom's facial fractures she is having difficulty chewing food, her teeth hurt. Because of this, we are asking for soft foods such as casseroles or soups without any hard pieces and meal replacement shakes.
