Friends of Rhonda and Eric are creating this page since
many have called to express their concern and desire to help. Prayers are the first and most important gift anyone can give. If you want to help in an additional way you can contribute to this fund. We don't know exactly what they are facing and what they will need but for now we anticipate the funds will be used to help support Rhonda in the care she needs as well as help family with travel and other expenses at a time when finances don't need to be a burden. ....................................
........Just three short weeks ago, we started a new journey with Rhonda moving to Texas for work.... I bought us a place in Texas even though I knew I was only going to be in Texas part - time at best. We have plans of commuting back and forth to see each other regularly.
Rhonda has been complaining of back pain for a a few months and has been going to the Chiropractor with little to no relief.
She felt really bad a week ago Friday .... went to the emergency room with severe back pain and was admitted. She sent me a text saying she was in the hospital and told me not to worry.
Last Saturday I got a call from her from the hospital saying that the tests they had run showed some abnormalities. I got on the first flight out to Dallas Sunday morning and went straight to the hospital.
We received the final confirmation on Friday. She has stage 4 breast cancer which has metastasized and spread to her spinal cord which has now been diagnosed as Leptomeningeal Carcinoma.
The cancer on her spinal cord is debilitating and is extremely painful and so far the news continues to be difficult with not much indication that treatment is an option. As a family we remain committed to investigating every option and being her advocate.
Rhonda is the world to me. Always putting others ahead of herself. On Tues, 8/15, we celebrate our 25th anniversary--- 25 of the absolute best years of my life and 25 years of her putting up with me. She is a true saint.
The company I work for has been great. Telling me to get Rhonda well and to not worry one bit about work--- that has taken quite a bit of stress away from me. Knowing I can focus on my wife is a true blessing and an unbelievably kind and generous gesture. Thank you PCC Airfoils.
I have been debating to keep this private but I have decided to post this in hopes that you all can pray for her. Please say a prayer for Rhonda and our family during this very difficult time.
