Revolutionary War Jewish Cemetery - Mikveh Israel

The oldest Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia, established by the early Jewish settlers who fled the Spanish Inquisition, and whose families later joined in the Revolutionary War,  was vandalized and also damaged by last year's hurricane.  Notables who are buried there are Haym Solomon, financier and soldier of the American Revolution, and Nathan Levy, whose ship brought the Liberty Bell to America.   I feel a deep sense of duty to Haym Solomon, to repair these graves and remove the graffiti .  He spent three years in British prison as an American spy.  Besides the Gratz family, other Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers buried there deserve the dignity of our assistance to fix these graves and pathways.   This is the ultimate gift in their memory.  Please please help in any amount you can from the generosity of your heart.  Thank you...Eli Gabay, President of the Congregation
