Revolution Tour Snowboard Athlete

Donation protected

Dear Friends, Family and Fellow Enthusiasts,

I have created this page to ask for help in pursuit of a life-long dream. My name is Jack Lee and I am a competitive snowboard athlete. I aspire to compete on the U.S. Slope-Style Snowboard Team, and this winter I am confident my talents will get me there.

But I can’t do it alone. As a Rookie athlete in a financially declining industry I do not have sponsorship with the means to fund my contest registrations, equipment and travel this season. While I coach for a local Snowboard Development Team, Team Summit CO, I have not been able to raise enough money on my own while allowing myself sufficient time to train ensuring a position at the top of my field.

I require your generosity in order to travel to and compete in five Revolution Tour events this season. Getting me there is where you come in, my part is showing the judges why I deserve to win. Have faith in me today, and I will make you proud to have contributed to my successful career.

My Story so far…

Before I even touched a snowboard I was flipping myself off beds and couches. From bombing down groomers in a teary eyed tuck to my first backflip on a snowboard at age ten, I developed a passion that has only grown with time.

When I was thirteen my flips and spins on snow began to scare my mother who suggested I try springboard diving which is performed over water. Naturally, I excelled in diving my very first practice and went on to dive Division 1 for the University of Michigan. While this pursuit took me away from snowboarding for five years of my prime, it allowed me an education I couldn’t be more proud of. I’m not just talking about the Bachelor of Arts degree I acquired when I say “education.”

As a member of the Men’s Varsity Swimming and Diving Team at the University of Michigan I learned how to be an athlete. I learned how to train with discipline while having fun. I learned how to be a team player, to push my peers and use the success of rivals to motivate me. I learned how to focus on improvement every day and take each set back as fuel for future success. I had the best coaches in the country chirping a continual trail of sports rhetoric that I hear in my sleep to this day. After three Big Ten Victories and helping my team take home the 2013 NCAA trophy there is a champion inside me with an appetite for more.

After my tenure as a collegiate diver I felt a void in my heart which had to be addressed. There exists in me a vacancy that can only be filled by a career in snowboarding. My true passion cried out and lead me to Breckenridge, CO where I now reside.

I spent last winter, my first in Colorado, re-learning to snowboard after my five year hiatus. In one short month I put together a run for a USASA contest in which my second place finish earned me a spot in the Revolution Tour. Still learning doubles mid season, I failed to land the run I set out for when I got to Rev. Tour and finished 26th and 30th out of 60 competitors in the double header at Winter Park. I did not have a budget to attend any other Rev. Tour stops last season. But I earned a 7th place finish at USASA Nationals landing frontside double cork 1080 for the first time in finals. This result ensured my position in the Revolution Tour for this season and with one year under my belt I am poised for much more success.

I spent the summer training on trampolines and roller boards at state of the art Woodward Copper facilities. I have trained the tricks I need to win Rev Tour indoors and will take them to snow when the jumps are built.

I know what it takes to win, and I know I am capable of winning this season. I sold my car in order to register for all five Revolution Tour Events I am pre-qualified for. This year they take place in Waterville Valley, NH, Seven Springs, PA, and Mammoth, CA.

I am asking, again, for your financial support allowing me to travel to these five stops. My best two performances will be assessed to qualify for Snowboard Grand Prix and World Tour for the 2017-2018 season. My goal for this winter is to earn a spot on the U.S. Snowboard Team so I can represent my country in the sport I am most passionate about.

With your contribution of $100 or more you will receive a hat hand knit by Jack Lee. This token of my gratitude will carry a piece of me in every stitch giving you something to hold onto while you watch my journey to the top. Contribute now and be a part of the history that will lead the U.S. back to the top of Slope-Style Snowboarding.

Thanks for your support!
