Please help us revitalize the Sunnyside Jewish Center, which has been serving the Sunnyside/Woodside/Long Island City communities for almost 80 years.
Our goal is to raise funds with which we can compensate a part-time Rabbi or Cantor to lead our weekly services and also to begin offering Hebrew education to our community. As we appeal to a wider and more diverse Jewish community in western Queens, we expect our growth will provide the financial infrastructure, allowing us to provide a wide range of religious, educational and cultural programs, not just for the Jewish community, but the community at large.
Through the years, our membership has dwindled from an all time high of 1500 members, for a variety of reasons. The current economic and real estate environments have made our area an attractive place to start and raise a family. Our Congregation, which dates back to the 1930's can and will grow, and provide what is needed. with your help. Thank You.
