For the Love of Rev

I am starting a Go Fund Me page for this beautiful dog that is so smart and special in so many ways. People have insurance to cover our bills, ok sort of, but that is another story. Rev's mom and dad do not have $6000 to $7000 to fix his leg and should he have to suffer in pain or be "put down"  because of that?! NO! To me that is unthinkable. What happened? "Rev suffered a leg injury May 20th and broke a metatarsal in his leg just below the secondary joint in his leg. He was in our tractor with my husband and when they parked the tractor to get out, Rev jumped and got hung up on the top step. They missed the break in the xrays at the Emergency Vet Clinic that day. My vet had everything emailed to her and the biggest concern by the ER vet was the wound that got sutured (superficial) no comment about x-rays or broken bones, but the x-rays were attached to the email. When I went in to see my vet on the 29th, I asked her if she saw the x-rays. As far as she knew, he got some stitches. When I told her the whole story, she went back in and saw the x-rays and took a look. Both the ER vet and the radiologists missed the break but she found it. The joint has slid out of place. So this was kind of a blessing in disguise as I see it. The secondary joint is damaged from the accident and we might not have known had they splinted the bone for healing. We could've went through 8 weeks of splinting just to have it fail and slip out of joint. He is 5, very active and I don't think splinting will do. The Blue Pearl Vet services had him in today for a surgery consultation on their dime. X-rays, reset of the joint, re-splint and more antibiotics today. I also got the estimate. It completely blew me away. $4700-$5600 USD for a fusion of the secondary joint. We have already spent $900.00 and he is worth every penny! This has been going on for 10 days and as it unravels it is getting more and more depressing and exhausting. My poor baby boy. " - Kari Hollman
