Return to Peru!
Verses like this motivate us to do what we do ... so after a year back in the USA, we're gearing up to head back to Peru in February! Our work there focuses on bringing the love of God to the poor, the hopeless, and the outcast, and we're asking you to participate with us in our efforts.
We are still primarily involved with the Torre Fuerte Girls' Home , but we're also involved now in helping to get the older girls a post-high school education, helping in the planting of churches in poor areas, educating new pastors, teaching English, and educating the children we work with.
We are hoping for your help as we return to the work. Funds raised here will be used for travel costs and living expenses, including the ability to help with some of the desperate needs we encounter from time to time.
The support you give us will enable us to directly impact the hurting people we work with. For our part, we are always incredibly grateful to those of you who generously support us, and we treat the funds we receive as money given to God.
We are looking forward to returning to our "home" in Arequipa, and getting back to the work God has called us to do. Thank you for any help you can provide.
But once they arrive, many find themselves for the first time in a place with real floors, a kitchen, three meals a day, and their own bed. They also find a path to an education and a chance to dream about their future.
We strive to turn their hopelessness into a real plan for a successful future. Because the city of Arequipa is somewhat of a tourist destination, the girls find opportunities for interactions with people from all over the world.
They have been impressed with the fact that speaking English allows me to talk with all of those visitors, and so there has been some increased interest in learning English. And I really enjoy the challenge of teaching English.
But the girls have had classes in other languages, as well. In the photos you can see them studying Portuguese and even Korean!
Please help us to return to Peru! Give if you can, but please share this post with your friends and family.
Please help us with the costs of travel and living expenses in Peru. Give if you can, and tell your friends a little about us.
So we've gotten them small things, like hair bands, nail clippers, chapstick, and jacks to play with. And the girls are thrilled to get something, and appreciative of our efforts.
A couple of years ago we decided to add a gift for the whole group - a long, heavy rope to use for games and activities. Take a look.
And once again, please consider giving if you can, and sharing this campaign even if you can't give. A few words from you will let your friends know that we're for real.
