Doug Rose was a wonderful husband, father and entertainer of the racing world. Doug was known for his "Green Mamba Jet Car". The Green Mamba is a jet powered dragster and was Doug's dream vehicle. Doug brought this dragster to life with help from many good friends in the early 60's. It's main intent was to thrill racing fans and it did just that.
When Rose was diagnosed with cancer last year and started chemotherapy treatment, he was determined to keep touring with the Green Mamba until he could no longer climb into the cockpit.
On August 17th 2018 Doug Rose took his last ride in the dragster.
Doug reached out to close friends when building this powerful dragster, now we reach out to you to help restore his dream.
The money raised here will go directly to Doug's wife Jeanne Rose. Jeanne will be putting all money raised to the repair and restoration of the Green Mamba Jet Car. After the restoration is complete the Green Mamba will be taken it her final resting place at Don Garlits Museum in Ocala Florida.
Our goal of $150,000 is to restore and repair the Green Mamba to its original glory.
