Help Restore Home for Castle Rock Prairie Dogs

Donation protected
In 2015, despite numerous obstacles from apathetic government officials and unfeeling corporate carpetbaggers, Prairie Protection Colorado was able to save hundreds of survivors after a prolonged poisoning campaign of prairie dogs in Castle Rock, that destroyed a beautiful living community for an unneeded sprawling mall. This colony now lives in the mountain meadows of Sedalia at 7300 feet and our organization seeds the colony yearly to ensure healthy growth of native plants and grasses that support this prairie dog community.

Your contributions to our seeding project will help these prairie dogs thrive and will also contribute to all the other species these prairie dogs support such as the fox, coyote, raptors and bobcats.

A common myth surrounding prairie dogs is that they destroy land and vegetation. Prairie Protection wants to set an example to the public and land managers alike that prairie dogs help restore land and native vegetation when colonies are seeded and invasive weeds removed. If this can be done in mountain meadows at 7300 feet, it surely can be done on the hardier grasslands at lower elevations.

Please  help us reach our goal by supporting the relocated Castle Rock prairie dogs! Let them be an example of how prairie dogs and the plant and animal communities work together and are the best healers when given a little help from advocates towards restoration.

Thank you so much for your consideration and for your contributions. We could never do this work without the support of people like you!
