On Friday, 15th December 2017, a young family got the keys to their first home. They were on the way back to their rental basement to pick up their sparse belongings.

On Hwy 403 and Mavis Road in Mississauga, their small car lost control, went over the barrier and hit a post.

Despite heroic efforts by Mississauga Fire & Rescue, Ontario Provincial Police and Peel Paramedics, Athash Priyan, aged 6, lost his life His nearly full term pregnant mother Nithya Raghupathy (aka Nithya Prabhakaran) is in critical condition at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. His father Prabhakarn Ramalingam is being treated at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga.

As his friends, we stand behind them during this terrible time.

Athash Priyan never get to sleep in his new home. Please donate to send this young boy to his eternal home.

Adieu Hathesh Priyen! You made a lasting mark in the short time you were alive.

Final farewell to Hathesh Priyen was performed yesterday evening, at 5:15 pm. It was unsettling for all of us. Despite the raw, uninhibited emotions, many chose to be present to show support and share grief together.

The next of kin, who travelled from India to be with Hathesh’s parents were deeply moved by the presence of many who were never known to have ties with the family.

The teachers from Chris Hadfield Public School were present. Coworkers of Prabhakar and Nithya came together and shared their grief.

Former neighbors who met in fleeting moments were suddenly close knit family. People who have never been known, were there with all the love they could share. People known only in social medias like WhatsApp and Facebook became real.

Tears and hugs flowed freely with no exceptions. All colors, ages and languages blended into one unified emotion.

Hathesh, you are not with us anymore. But you showed us this world is a beautiful place. Thank you.

We are moving Nithya and Prabhakar’s house hold items from the basement to their new home tomorrow evening . We packed their belongings on Christmas Eve.

Packing Hathesh’s toys were the most difficult task. We found small toy cars frozen inside balls of ice in the freezer. No idea how he managed to do that.
