Represent Me AZ PAC

Arizona's Congressional District 2 voted for Hillary Clinton by 5%, and yet our Representative, Martha McSally has voted with Trump 100% since she took office. Her constituents are tired of being without representation in Washington. Today, McSally led the battle cry to take healthcare away from over 47,000 of her constituents and millions of Americans, and she did this with such glee that we need to increase our fight.

Some of the 900+ members of our Facebook group, McSally Take a Stand, have become frustrated with us for not writing Martha McSally off and have suggested just working to replace her. We continue to believe that she can do a lot of damage in 2 years. Today’s vote to remove healthcare from her most vulnerable constituents and the glee with which she cast the vote, is a demonstration of that. So while we won’t waste any more time meeting with her Tucson staff and being brushed off, we have decided to create a SuperPAC called RepresentMeAZ and we are raising money to let her constituents know who she is and how she votes. We are hoping to help to raise enough money to battle the dark money in her coffers. McSally is a master fundraiser, and who knows how much she was promised to go against her constituents' best interests and vote for the AHCA.

History
Several Grassroots groups have joined forces since November to ask Martha McSally to fight for us in Washington amid the nightmarish Cabinet appointments and Executive Orders that trample the civil liberties of her constituents. We have demonstrated, called, written, met with her staff and spent thousands of hours we don't have trying to engage her. We even spent our own money (nearly $1,000)  putting on a citizen Town Hall where 400 of her constituents showed up to dialog with her. She chose instead to sneakily schedule one of her own in a small town south of Tucson at the same time, making it impossible for constituents to attend both. She insulted our concerns by calling us “Democratic activists engaged in political theater.” A smaller group of us has "negotiated" with her staff for more constituent engagement because she continues to dodge her constituents and their concerns. The majority of her constituents want her to fix, not repeal ACA. So after dodging questions about how she'll vote and ignoring concerns about rushing and not waiting for a CBO score to fully analyze the impact on her constituents, she said "let's get this fucking thing done!" And by "fucking thing" she means taking healthcare away from anyone making under 75,000 who isn't covered by an employer, making things like being a woman a pre- existing condition (maternity, c- section, rape) which will no longer need to be covered by insurance companies. They say that the states can create a high risk pool and she "fought" for money for the states but the states don't have to use that money for the high risk pool. Think about our lovely State of Arizona and what those legislators in Phoenix will do with that money (see misspent education dollars, ya'all.)
