Car fire whilst driving
Donation protected
On the morning of Monday 17th December I was driving my 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son to their dentist appointment. As I pulled into a parking space outside the dentist I noticed flames coming from the back of my car in my mirror. I immediately jumped out of the car and pulled my children out. In those split seconds I was so scared that the car was going to blow up as the flames were now past the point of where you add fuel into the car. Thankfully we were able to a safe distance until the fire brigade arrived.
I was told by the fire brigade that the fire looks to have started from the battery which is located in the boot of these cars. My insurance company has told me that they do not pay out for fires started by electrical faults. I am now facing a bill of not only my excess but also the 7 months remaining of my insurance policy.
As with a lot of other people at this time of year with Christmas only just over a week away, I simply do not have the money to get a new car which I need for both work and getting my children to and from school.
I don’t hold much hope for this campaign as there are so many worthy causes on here, however I just don’t know what else to do.
Any help at all will be sincerely apppreciated.
Thank you for your time reading this post.
