In 1984 was born one of the smallest WWII museum, dedicated to the priceless stories of the local people throughout the War. That museum was started by Dr. Paul Delahaye (✝) who dedicated his life to the memory of those who fought for our liberty and freedom, and was installed in the historical barn where the first U.S. hero was killed in Belgium, on September 2nd, 1944 near Momignies.

Today, the association "Devoir de Mémoire de Momignies" manages the museum, but this old and historical barn must be renovated in order to welcome new visitors, and to refresh its rooms.

The plan for this museum is to create three thematic spaces, leading the visitor from the daily-life in the area during WWII and the active resistance, to the liberation by the 9th Infantry Division with one dedicated space to discover the fascinating story of the crashed B-17 "Susan Ruth".

These projects couldn't be achieved without funds obviously, and we are actually seeking for sponsors and philanthropic to help us in our projects. But any Euro does matter, and in giving to the museum, you take part to the preservation of the History, either of the locals and those who came from far away to liberate us from Nazi dictatorship.

These donations will help us to buy materials for the renovation of the museum, which is still today, only four wall hosting priceless pieces of history that are degrading because of the ageing of the building. Follow our progress, and support our work in donating!

The end-state is to inaugurate the new museum on September 2nd, 2019, for the 75th Anniversary of the liberation of Belgium. Obviously, if we are able to open it earlier, thank to your donations and a good support of the local sponsors, then we will be proud to welcome all who helped us to fund this renovation, for the very first opening of the museum!
