"Remission" creature art film
Donation protected
re·mis·sion- from Old French to ‘send back, restore.’ "Remission" is an art film about one man’s loss of his child and his painful struggles dealing with loss. It explores the tipping point between debilitating paralysis and the potential for hope when confronted with the extreme duress caused by loss. In it, three creatures, each representing different traits of his personality and ways in which he tries to escape his pain, “leave” the man and go on individual journeys. But they learn that only through sacrificing their “vices” together, can the man have any real hope to face the gauntlet of struggle in trying to move forward. This 5-minute art film features vibrant handmade creature costumes and breathtaking visuals of more than 20 Southern California locations; each shot is carefully composed as if a painting.
