My Dearest Family and Friends,
May the peace, mercy and blessings of the Almighty be upon you.
One of the hardest of tests to endure in this life is the death of a loved one, and even more so, the death of a parent. There are many stages of grieving that one goes through upon the loss of a loved one. During the darkness and perpetual tears, one is crippled with what feels like eternal pain. Unfortunately and much to our dismay, we still must move on with our lives with a part of ours taken away from us, much like a missing limb.
As you may know, my Dearest and Beloved Mother, Sri Lully, passed away on Wednesday, 18 May 2016 from Cervical Cancer. Although it has been sometime since she has passed away, the ache and pains have not subsided. The void is still there and increases with time. As a daughter, I often ponder what can I do to benefit my mother now that she is no more.
Her time was up in this world, but her good deeds do not have to end at the time of her death. Therefore, I’ve decided to start this Go Fund Me page to raise funds to build a well in Somalia in her name, so it can be a means of sadaqah jariyah (ongoing reward) for her inshaAllah.

Every cent and dollar will go a long way. No donation is too small, even if it’s a mere 50cents. Your donation will reap many benefits for you. For every person that gets access to clean water, drinks from that well, bathes from that well and cooks using the water from that well, the ongoing reward will go to you, as you have taken part in the building of it.
For those who want to donate, but do not have the means to, I would be humbled and honoured if you could remember my Mother in your pious supplications and prayers.

“The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.
262. Those who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allah, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”
[al-Baqarah 2:261-262]
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There is no day on which the people get up but two angels come down and one of them says, ‘O Allah, give in compensation to the one who spends (in charity),’ and the other says, ‘O Allah, destroy the one who withholds.’”
