Remembering Gina, Joe, and Kayleen

On May 13, 2018, gunshots were fired into my parent's home in Stockton, Ca at around 10PM as we were gathered in celebration of Mother's Day severely injuring two & taking the lives of three! My younger sister Gina Xiong (22 y.o), brother-in-law Joe Lor (22 y.o), and precious niece Kayleen B. Lor (5 y.o) was murdered in cold blood! Joe was pronounced dead at the scene while Gina and sweet Kayleen lost their battle at the hospital. Gina, Joe, and Kayleen’s passing affected so many lives and has left us with an indescribable amount of devastation, confusion, and grief for their lives were robbed from them!!!
This young family had their entire life ahead of them but unfortunately that was cut short due to someone’s selfish act of crime. Gina and Joe were young parents who worked hard to provide for their beautiful daughter to the best of their ability by working multiple jobs. Together, they had come a long way from being young parents to being the best role model to their only child. Their little family was filled with love, care, and compassion for everyone.
My niece Kayleen who is only five years old, was supposed to start school this coming August. She was so excited about going to school and making new friends. She is a sweet, loving, and caring individual who just brings the life out of everyone. But now she will no longer be able to make friends at school, nor bring presents to her teachers for teacher appreciation days, or bring home drawings she made at school.
My family and I are devastated and horrified from this traumatic event. No mother should ever go through the pain of losing their own child during Mother’s Day of all days! From this point on, Mother’s Day will no longer be a celebration of happiness for both Joe and Gina’s mothers. Instead, it will be a memory of losing their own child and their granddaughter and filled with heartaches!
However, the wounds of the remainder of the family whom experienced this horrible event will never be healed. We had lost three precious angels that we will never be able to hug, laugh, and grow old with.
Not only are we grieving for our loss, we are also trying to piece our home back together for we have lost property due to the gunshots and blood stains. Our home has been physically impacted with bullet holes still visble in our livingroom. We, the Xiong side of the family, are also victims here! It was our home that was ruined and our people who had witnessed this whole ordeal and is still being hunted by it! Family members, young and old, were in the home when the shooting happened who had witnessed this tragic event. The nightmares and haunting images of seeing our love ones lying there in a pool of blood and hearing the cries for help is something we can never forget! So seeking Family and Grief Counseling for tramatized family members is also something we will be needing.
We are asking for financial support during this hard time as we need funding to host and provide meals/refreshments as visitors & supporters mourn with us during this grieving process. These funds will also be use to relocate our family for we no longer feel safe in the home where this tragic event took place. We will also be giving a portion of it to my brother in law Joe Lor's family to assist with what they have to do as both sides of the family lost love ones. All donations are greatly appreciated and will be used strictly for situations pertaining to this tragic event.
UPDATE: $10,000 cash taken out from this GoFundMe page was hand delivered and given to the Lor side of the family (Joe's Family) on May 29, 2018! An additional $5,000 was taken out and given to the Lor Family on June 8, 2018; bringing the overall total given to $15,000 to assist with funeral and burial cost!!!
This gofundme account was created by me, Nancy Xiong (sister of Gina Xiong and Aunty of Kayleen B. Lor) on behalf of my older sister Susan Xiong (also, sister of Gina Xiong and Aunty of Kayleen B. Lor). The account will be managed by me but the fundings will be managed by my older sister Susan. Susan will be the key person in Stockton who will be managing the funds for the cause. Again, rest assure knowing these funds will not be abused or used for anything other than the results and aftermath of this neverending nightmare.
