Remembering FOSTER BUTLER

Three year old FOSTER's father Jason explains this tragedy in his own words:

December 25, 2018
I’ve never cried so much in my life and no father or parent should ever have to go through this. On Christmas Day around 12pm - a horrible accident occurred. I took my kids outside to take them home to their mother. My truck was too close to the house so I had to move it for Foster to get in. I told my kids to stay put while I moved the truck. I got in the truck, put it in drive and just let off brake rolling forward - I only had to move truck 6-8 feet. About 6’ in my truck comes to sudden stop.  I open door to find what’s in my way because nothing is supposed to be there. I look down in disbelief to see my baby girls feet sticking out from under my driver side tire. I freak out yelling her name "FOSTER"!!!!!  Still in shock I jumped out of my truck and scooped her up. My truck is still in drive so I have my limp, unconscious daughter in one arm running after my truck. I jump in slam it in park and set her in driver seat as I call 911. I ran inside to house to take Walker in and get my wife Jill.  Jill & I both ran back out to the truck and Jill immediately started "CPR" on her. Volunteer fire fighters were first on the scene in 12min. The ambulance was at our home in 20 min. Everyone did the best they could for Foster - on scene and for our other three children. Foster was taken to Brantford General Hospital by police escort to try and get her in stable condition for an air lift to Hamilton Hospital. She arrived there about an hour after the accident. She had a CT Scan right away and they found a lot of bleeding in her brain. They started brain surgery right away to try and stop the bleeding and had to remove part of her skull. Surgery went well and stopped the bleeding but they didn’t know how long her brain went without blood before she got to the hospital.

Unfortunately my baby girl isn’t going to be making a recovery.  She's on life support to help her stay alive. Katie "Foster's mother"and I both agreed for Foster to be an organ donor. She will more than likely  be taken off life support today. My baby girl may soon pass  but she is going to save multiple kids lives and make some other parents very happy in this new year to come!

I wanted everyone to hear our story - not for sympathy - but to remind everyone that accidents can happen at any moment and happen so fast. It was only 30 seconds from the time I started the truck to when Foster was hurt. She must have ran around the passenger side and fell in front of my tire. I couldn’t of seen her unless she was six feet in front of my truck. So cherish every moment with your kids like it’s the last, take as many pictures as you can. We our fortunate to live in a time where this is possible and you can never have enough pictures of your angels. We take for granted our little ones and think they’re going to be around forever. So please if you have young ones give them hugs for me and FOSTER - never let them go!
