On Friday, November 29th, our friend Lydell Brown was shot and killed when he interrupted a burglary in his Vallejo CA apt. complex. He was only 25 years old.

Lydell was an amazing person. A modern-day Saint. He was a huge Oakland Raiders fan and season ticket holder. He tail-gated at every home-game early in the morning on Sundays. Many of us sat with him in section 222 of the Oakland Coliseum for several years.

Lydell had a smile that would light up a room. He didn't have a bad thing to say about anyone. He leaves behind his girlfriend and 2 young daughters, ages 4 and 7.

We are devastated at the tragic and senseless loss of such an amazing friend and person. Lydell worked at Walmart in American Canyon for almost 10 years and provided for his daughters and girlfriend. Now that he is suddenly gone, we want to help give them some financial stability and cover funeral expenses.

Please donate as much as you can to help Lydell's family.

We promise he would've done the same for you.

I thought I would share this with everyone: s

someone who met Lydell just briefly while he was on the job at Walmart shared a beautiful story about him:

I didn't know Lydell personally, but I did experience his kindness of heart at Walmart one day. I'd been sitting in a motorized cart for over twenty minutes, waiting for help out to my car. He saw me on his way out of the store at the end of his shift and offered his assistance. I'll never forget that, his taking time to help a perfect stranger, not because it was "his job" (which it wasn't), but because he saw someone in need. What a beautiful heart; what a senseless loss. His family is in my prayers.

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
