My name is Heather Vance and I am the Aunt of this beautiful 8 year old girl named Allie Jo, who was tragically involved in a hit and run accident.
Backstory
A night that was suppose to be filled with fun at the city fair targically took a turn for the worst when my 8 year old niece was hit by a car while crossing the street from her home to get into her car. Though her older sister made it across, Allie wasn't as fortunate, as the driver never stopped and left her lying in the middle of the street severely injured.
Allie was rushed to Mercy Hospital with the right femur being shattered and the left femur broken. 3 fractures in her pelvic. 3 small brain bleeds and a fractured cheek bone.
Allie was in a 6 hour surgery just to repair the two femurs.
The Costs
My sister now is off work until further notice and Allie will need around the clock care.
No weight bearing for 4-6weeks, many trips to Akron Childrens Hospital. Then will be in extensive physical therapy.
She will also require another surgery in 9 months to remove rods, pins and plates.
On top of all the new needs for my niece, she has two other children ages 10 and 3 that she also needs to provide for without a second income coming into the house.
By donating to this cause, not only will it be a huge financial relief for my sister but also be able to give Allie the best possible care to make a full recovery without the stress of work.
