We did the unthinkable, went undefeated for the 2nd straight year winning back to back Syfl championships. This past weekend we dominated the competition at the Calibowl. People took note and the broadcaster identified us as one of the best 8U teams in the nation. We have now been invited to compete for the National Championship of Youth Football in Canton, Ohio. This is the football version of the Little League World Series. The games will be played at the NFL's Football Hall of Fame and broadcast on national television. I believe we are the first Northern Nevada team to ever qualify and be invited to this event.
Unfortunately, it is very short notice, as the first game will be December 13th, and the team is scrambling to pay for the costs of a youth football team to travel across the country.
This team is unique and the players come from vast backgrounds. My motto has been no kid gets turned away from football because of money. This team fund raised money by doing car washes, selling items and talking to local businesses just to make sure everyone could play this year. Obviously, this is a chance of a life time for these kids. Some of these kids will never be given this opportunity again. If they had time, every single one of them would be washing more cars to pay their way.
One last thing, the Sierra Youth Football League is a non profit organization. The tax ID: 88-0451518.
I guess gofundme needs me to add more information. My name is John Silver. I am the Head Coach of this Football team. Since we weren’t able to raise enough money to initially pay for the boys flights I paid for all of them. The money raised will go to reinbusing me for the flights and to pay for rooms and transportation in Ohio.
