Recovery Meditation (Help us Help)!

Donation protected

Though Meditation is considered to be an important component in recovery, there is little direction on how to meditate and very few people ever experience deep relaxation or transcendence simply because they have never been taught a method that works for them.

What are:
Recovery Meditations & Meditianing Experientials?

Guided Recovery Meditation & The Meditianing Experiential is a method of helping people recover from addictions, disorders, conditioning and trauma that leads to the lack of self love, low self worth and depression. If there is a lack of self love then obviously we need to add love, which is an important part of our guided meditations.

The method

Relaxation - utilizing techniques of breathing and visualization ether lying on the ground with a pillow or sitting in a chair, the person is guided into a relaxed state.

Meditation - guided on a journey from a soft comforting voice, the attendee contemplates spiritual concepts from many sources including, the AA Big Book & 12 steps, The Tao, The Torah (old testament), Jesus Christ, Buddhism, Ancient Vedic & Sanskrit, Native American, Course In Miracles, Yogis & Gurus, Poetry, Prayers, Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Abraham Maslow, Deepak Chopra and others.

Obtainment - The attendee, in the relaxed inspired transcendent state of being, is offered a new concept of self, which is really about getting in touch with authentic self, bringing into view what an amazing creation we are that has probably been taken for granted or overlooked because of habitual thinking and a developed false constitution. Breaking down the wonderment of our true physical, mental, emotional and spiritual gifts of life leads one into a new concept of self. As one comes to see themselves as such an amazing creation of God, one feels a new sense of gratitude, self worth and being loved and cared for.

Affirmation - The attendee gains a sense of care and love from God when the gift of life and all daily blessings become viewed. A person begins to see themself as God's work and gratitude is felt deep within. Many people struggle with a concept or relationship with God, but when one experiences gratitude they are connecting with a loving God of their understanding. The relationship begins without further thought.

Maintaining - The attendee is encouraged to cultivate the new image of self in solitude, contemplation, prayers of gratitude on a daily basis. To embrace their worthiness of love, to love themselves so they may find true intimacy in relationships, attract healthy people and find themselves worthy of greater self care.

Feedback : We have recieved many emails and comments from therapists that have told us they are playing our meditations for their groups at treatment centers, many excited comments from healthcare practitioners that find our method to be new type of tool and platform that people love and find it truly helps! And as in the one that follows, we have heard from grateful souls who the site helped them stay sober on a challenging night and has even literally helped a  couple of very depressed people quell thoughts of suicide or ending it all.

I got online last night looking for recovery-related Web sites to fill myself up with more hope and faith.
I found your recoverymeditation.org site, and it was exactly what I needed. I spent 3 hours reading and listening, and went to bed afterward saying your friend DJ's prayer over and over.
It resonated with me...exactly where I am at. I printed it out and put it in my wallet today.
It may be the most beautiful prayer I have ever known.
I slept peacefully and soundly for the first time in a long time.
I'm writing all this very personal stuff to you to thank you.
Thank you for posting the things you did on your site. They are a big piece of what is helping me save me at the moment.
I also agree with the wrong constitution of self. That has happened for me as well, and I am ready to find my right constitution.
I will be returning to your site daily, to fill myself up some more, and keep looking forward in my new journey.
My feet are on a path of life and spiritual healing, and for the first time in a few years, I am excited to see what is going to happen next, instead of dreading another day that will be just like all the days before it. When my thoughts spiral, I will use the speaker snippets and prayers on your site along with other things I'm using...to get me through the dark moments.

Your site and it's content, is helping me save my own life.

Thank you.

I look forward to your book,

Namaste,

(for obvious reasons we have removed the persons name and contact info)

The growth of this project will be largley based on how many donations come in.
For the past 7 years I've recorded the meditations on whatever I can and built the websites myself.  I had a profound awakening 7 years ago and sharing my personal experience with meditation to rid unnecessary suffering has become my calling. I'm also at an age, 52, that what I do with my life is very important I must love what I AM doing and being true to what the Mysterys purpose for me is, as then I AM living authentic to being. I AM in a position to dedicate my life to being of service to others by developing these meditations and bringing awareness of this resource to those it can help worldwide!

Developing new meditations for us is easy and very enjoyable. The email responses to the site have proven how much people love the Recovery Meditations and the site has literally saved some lives and help people stay sober, to rid anxiety and stress, which is a killer. One fact I have come to understand over 20 years working in different facets of recovery is that addicts, alcoholics and people that are wounded need to be shown as much love as possible to heal. In recovery its referred to as "incomprehensible demoralization" that one experiences when in the grip of their illness.

Again, based on the amount funds we recieve, will dictate what our options for growth become.

A portion of the donations recieved will go to a scholorship fund to teach Silent Mantra Meditation and Guided Meditations to individuals and groups  that have a helpable ilnesses through meditation and cannot afford; or development of the websites
RecoveryMeditation.com, RecoveryMeditation.org and SilentMantra.com; purchasing needed audio and video equipment and studio time; marketing materials, videos, audeo downlowds, CD's, DVD's that are needed to make these forms of meditation available to the public. There are other miscellaneous financial needs.

Ultimately, our hope is to make as many products and services free to the public depending on what we raise here and perhaps find future sponsors.

It will always be kept affordable and spiritual to others and no one should be excluded due to the lack of personal funds. We will post pictures and updates when apropriate to show and hear from those who get help because of your kind donation. Much Love ~rg

Ricky guiding a meditation for an individual who's been experiencing the trauma residual of physical abuse. "Let Go & Just Be"

I AM:

Ricky
Gelb lived for decades struggling with the residuals of childhood trauma, anxiety, fear and addiction. After many attemps of being freed from the bondage of self.  Having lost everything he loved, on the brink of insanity & suicide, serendipity and some amazing spiritual people pointed him in the right direction, within! After years of trying therapy, rehab and many attemps at treatment of different sorts with no lasting success, an 86-year-old man named Joseph Perry shared his experience in Transcendental Meditation & guided Recovery Meditation with Ricky.

Recently, he has developed an experiential process that helps people develop and maintain self worth & self-love by obtaining a new concept of self through guided meditation which helps a person get in touch with the amazing authentic creation they are and to rewrite the false inner constitution that has been driving them in habitual thinking. The method is called Meditaining.

Ricky Gelb has had vast experience helping people with addiction issues of all sorts. He has an unusual gift of perception & reflection and the desire to help people.

Ricky previously worked primarily in the music industry as an interventionist and case manager. He also has worked at treatment centers and worked at The Musician Assistance Program that has today merged with Music Cares, a non-profit run by The Music Acadamy to help musicians with addictions. In addition, in 1999 he founded the first well-funded website called AddictionSolutions.com that brought together most of the leading experts and authors pertaining to addictions and disorders and had the first online database for people to find help in any geographic location in a confidential way. Some of the leading experts that worked with Ricky Gelb to create the site included:
Melody Beattie, who authored books including Codependent No More, Beyond Codependency, The Language of Letting Go; Patrick Carnes, the leading proponent of the viewpoint that some sexual behavior can be seen as an addiction and wrote many books, including Out Of The Shadows; Pia Mellody, Senior Clinical Advisor for The Meadows and auther of Facing Co-dependency and Love Addiction; as well as contributors  Claudia Black; Jonathan Rader, of Rader Institute, the founder of one of the most renowned treatment centers for eating disorders; Columbia University's smoking snsation department and many others.

Now please meet Joseph Perry!

Joseph Perry
91 years old (Ricky's teacher and creator of Recovery Meditations. Please see his video above) has taught Transcendental Meditation for 45 years, has 52 years of sobriety and for decades has been going into treatment centers sharing his spiritual guided Recovery Meditations with newcomers. He has also taught thousands of people in the Twin Cities area that are in recovery, Transcendental Meditation. Joseph believes, from watching the people he has taught over the decades, that seventy percent of people in nrecovery would stay sober if they did daily meditation that profoundly relaxes the body, relieves stress and shifts consciousness. Joseph was the happiest, most loving, joyful person Ricky ever met. He also knew that Joseph and he shared something within that is unexplainable.  Ricky wanted what Joseph had and knew that it was his calling to carry this method of wellness to others and it became a calling to Ricky to help others relieve unnecessary suffering to share this simple method with others that they could free themselves from all the false programming and conditioning (core issues that therapy often can't help) that is today an epidemic of anxiety, depression, addiction and other illnesses that affect so many in the world.

Live guided meditations of Joseph at treatment centers. (But again by raising funds we will be able to create much higher quality audio):
