Storm Creek Horse Co- Rebuild the Loyd's Barn

Donation protected
Storm Creek Horse Co lived up to its name last night when severe weather damaged their main barn to the point of collapse. This barn is owned by Lisa and Dustin and is essential to the operation of the rescue- it houses the stalls for quarantine, the tack room, office, grooming and medical supplies, hay, and serves as the primary location for fundraising events. They will need to begin work rebuilding as soon as possible.

Shelters, fencing, and other infrastructure were destroyed, and debris was scattered out into the pastures. The pictures show the barn in partial collapse- it has since collapsed further. This is devastating for the Loyds, and the rescue.

The barn is not covered by insurance because the property is used for trail rides, lessons, and training. It is not insurable at an affordable rate with these activities, which are necessary to financially support the rescue. They cannot operate the rescue without these activities, because there just aren’t enough donations to sustain it without Lisa contributing through other services.

Lisa and Dustin pour everything they can into the rescue. A new barn is not in the budget, especially with high hay prices and over 60 rescue animals to provide feed and medical care for. As more and more rescues and local charities shut down, we have to do everything in our power to support the remaining few.

Lisa and Dustin do an amazing job every day. They dedicate their time, love, financial capital, family, and more to supporting this rescue. They've made countless personal sacrifices, and are the first people to jump in when someone needs them. They've been the last resort for desperate animal owners with no one else to turn to, and have been the shoulder to cry on as those surrenders make the transition to live out their lives at Storm Creek. They step in to help their community in every way they can- whether it's coaching kids teams, helping with neighborhood cleanups, or mentoring disadvantaged teens, they do everything in their power to make the world a better place.

Let's pull together and make things a little less stressful so them- please donate what you can, and, if you can't donate, we can always use volunteers. The links to their Facebook page and the volunteer group are below.

Note: This is a fundraiser for Lisa and Dustin, owners of Storm Creek Horse Co, so that they can rebuild their barn. They use their property to house and run the rescue. While Storm Creek Horse Co is a 501c3, because this is to rebuild their property, donations to this cause are not tax deductible.
