As a next step in serving the community of published authors who have come together under the Realm Makers banner, we are expanding our business to take the fabulous books these talented people write direct to fans who will buy and read them. What better way to cut through the white noise that hampers author exposure than to physically place books in the paths of the people who love them?
We have arranged to take book inventory to comic cons and homeschooling conventions around the United States for this purpose. However, this requires a significant investment from us. We are committed to reinvesting Realm Makers conference profits to support this endeavor, but they simply don't stretch far enough to launch us down this uncharted path.
As of right now, we have vendor booths booked for the Salt Lake Comic Con, World Fantasy 2017, PhilCon, and Teach them Diligently (Nashville), with more events in our sights for the last quarter of 2017 and 2018.
The expenses involved in establishing this business include:
-Purchase of a trailer and truck for hauling and storing inventory
-Table fees to have vendor space at events
-Travel and lodging costs
-Management of booth inventory
-Transaction costs for selling at events
-Signage and promotional materials
That just names a few!
