Welcome to WAAT's annual "Read to Me" book drive and fundraiser!
WAAT has been participating in the Read to Me program for the TDC Learning Center at Highland Park since it was started by WAAT Past President, Hon. Teresa Watson, several years ago.
The mission of TDC Learning Centers is to "provide early care and education for children across Greater Topeka." The Highland Park Parent-Child Learning Center, specifically, serves infants and children up to 6 years old of teenage parents attending high school, as well as those in the community. The child care program is staffed by TDC Learning Centers, Inc. & Topeka Public Schools and includes child care; modeling of parenting skills; parent education; counseling; and helping teens access social services and resources.
Now through March 15th, WAAT will be collecting cash donations for the Highland Park Parent-Child Learning Center through this Go Fund Me site. We will also accept book donations at our February 14th and March 14th luncheon programs.
