Read Family Flooding Fund

The Reads need your help. Ken and Melissa Read’s basement was completely destroyed, along with everything in it (including a new furnace and water heater), from the recent rain storms in Des Moines. Ken has ALS and is wheelchair-bound so he is unable to assist with clean up. Melissa recently had knee-replacement surgery so it’s hard for her to go up and down stairs. This is not the first time their basement has flooded and without the funds to make some critical improvements, it won’t be the last. Unfortunately, their insurance isn’t going to cover anything! Family members are going to pitch in both time and money, but we need help raising at least $10,000 to help cover necessary repairs, and replacing their HVAC, water heater and washer/dryer.
