Update: Extending our goal to 10K. All proceeds will go directly to victims of Hurricane Maria and or American Red Cross! Also, with your help we succeeded in opening a pathway to the center of the island (from Florida to Jayuya, PR)! Thank you!!!

THE GOAL
To deliver water and food supplies to Jayuya, Puerto Rico as soon as possible!
WHY NOT RELY ON AUTHORITIES / TRAINED VOLUNTEERS TO DELIVER SUPPLIES?
Yes, they are working very diligently to help the entire island! I am also working with American Red Cross in addition to this campaign. However, there are many phases through the process of authorities and volunteer efforts and it simply takes a lot of time before they will reach Jayuya with these resources. For example, in 1998, hurricane Georges had the same route as hurricane Maria where the eye of the storm went straight to through Jayuya. This was a category 2 upon impact with Puerto Rico and it took weeks before we were able to receive supplies. Therefore, my goal is to supply food and water to the center of the region by air.
WHY THE URGENCY?
When organizations do reach these areas, the residents living in this region have to walk vast distances to reach supplies. We cannot wait weeks to send them help – they need food and hydration NOW!
WHY ME?
It’s simple – if not me, then who? My mom landed in Puerto Rico on Sunday, September 17th, after being away from the island for a month. When speaking with her on Tuesday, September 19th, she mentioned that grocery stores had limited supplies and there were no bottled waters to be found. Due to such short preparation time, she did not have excess supply of food sitting around the house. There are many more examples like this and I am simply aiming to bring food and water to Jayuya and quickly as possible.
