Josh & Jess's Reach for a Lifeline

For those who don’t know our story:
Almost 9 years ago I met Josh while I was attending college. He was a young, free-spirited man who went wherever the wind carried him. That is, until the day he met me. It was love at first sight when we locked eyes from across the room. Overcome with joy he called his mother later that night to tell her “I found the woman I am going to marry”. Since then we have shared a bond stronger than words can describe. He truly is the love of my life. For a few years we were separated due to my career. My job required me to move state to state about every 6 months. It wasn’t until recently that we were reunited. After living in Ogden, Utah for almost a year with a rooted full time job Josh was able to move from Virginia to be with me back in the fall. A few months after moving here our lives blossomed and we both have been looking forward to going back to college this fall to help advance our careers. Things have finally begun to feel complete for us… that is until the accident the morning of July 15, 2019.

The Year from Hell:
Around 11:15am on Monday (7/15/19), Josh had pulled over on Interstate 15 near 1000 North in Salt Lake County, Utah when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The details of the incident are still under investigation and no one really knows what truly happened. Unfortunately, this hasn't been the only accident we've had to endure this year. Back in April Josh was involved in a serious car accident while on his way home from work. A man fell asleep behind the wheel and slammed into the back of Josh's vehicle going over 80mph. Josh suffered from a severe concussion and has needed weekly physical therapy. A month before the second accident, he starting to show signs of complications from his concussion back in April. We are unsure if this has anything to do with the incident on Monday.

Why I Need Help:
I’m starting this go fund me in hopes of keeping my head afloat as I navigate these next several months without Josh. Before Monday’s incident, we were tight on money from the accident in April which we haven’t received restitution nor a settlement from the insurance company yet. Josh was the breadwinner in our family and without him, I am unable to pay all of our bills.  As much as this pains me, I am asking for help from anyone who is willing and able. I understand that not everyone is able to donate to our fund but those who can’t are still able to help us tremendously by sharing this with anyone and everyone they know. No amount is too little and every penny will go to helping us in this time of need.

Josh’s Prognosis:
On July 31, 2019 after a 2-week battle Josh succumbed to his injuries and passed away in the loving arms of his family and I...

Additional Help Needed:
If anyone is interested in purchasing Josh's beloved sports car it would be an enormous amount of help financially for me. The vehicle is a 2008 Audi S4 Quattro and we currently owe $11k for it, more details can be found on the facebook marketplace or you can message me. Thank you to everyone who donates and those who share this post. A special thank you to our family and friends for all their love and kind words. Our heart goes out to the poor man who unfortunately struck Josh with his vehicle.
