THE CHURCH: Logos Ministries in Lahore, Pakistan is a church with many vibrate Christian believers meeting for weekly worship, Sunday School, and midweek discipleship classes – in a completely inadequate facility.
Starting in 2003, Founding Pastor Rashid Masih planted Logos with 6 people, and it is now a 200 member church reaching deep into its community with the hope of the Christian gospel, in word and deed. The many ministries undertaken by this courageous band of Christians include:
Serving the poor with free food and clothing distribution.
Bible distribution in a country where 1 in 30 Christians actually own one.
Flood relief for victims of annual Tsunamis, disproportionately affecting Christians in poorer rural areas.
Micro-finance (Hope-Light Foundation) where young entrepreneurs are given key resources to start businesses that lift whole families out of poverty.
Recovery efforts for victims of regular, systemic and at times horrifyingly violent persecution.
THE NEED: This amazing church body is currently meeting in a rented facility - actually a lobby for an apartment complex - which cannot hold more than 50, so church members spill out into the street.
The overflow inhibits real participation in services and the overcrowding has created tension with the building owners. As you probably know, Christians living in Pakistan experience a tremendous amount of challenges simply for being Christian and the threat of being kicked out of their current (inadequate) facilities is very real threat.
THE SOLUTION: But you can help this young ministry bloom in hard soil. You can help Christian brothers and sisters feel cared for in one of the poorest countries in the world. You can help the light of Jesus Christ shine out in the middle of near constant pressure from anti-Christian extremists. You can help believers know, show and grow God’s love in Pakistan. Your contribution to Logos Church Building, will help purchase a building that will create stability for a life changing organization, and will catalyze new growth in numbers and in depth of believers in Pakistan. $150,000 goes so much farther in Pakistan, than in the U.S. If the goal is met, Logos can purchase land AND build a building with a 500 seat capacity.
