Our very own Rachel Chupik was elected as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Texas Congressional District 17!
Below is a message from Rachel:
There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.” In contemplating my role as a national delegate, these words from Ronald Reagan have become my motto. We need grassroots conservatives who will stand strong for the right and fight against corruption, no matter the cost, and that is what I will do in Cleveland.
At past conventions, specifically in 2012, there have been attempts by the Rules Committee to push an agenda that takes the power that rightly belongs to the delegates. I will fight for rules that are going to return power to the delegates by allowing open debate and fair voting.
I will also fight to have a strong, God-honoring, conservative platform. Having served on the resolutions committee in Brazos County, I understand what a good platform should entail. I want to see our platform unequivocally stand for life and natural marriage, condemn radical Islam, and promote strong national security, low taxes, and limited government.
This is our party and our convention, and each of you deserves to know what is going on. Follow me on Facebook to receive updates on the convention proceedings as they occur. Also, feel free to ask me any questions, and I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner.
The money raised here will go toward paying my hotel and travel expenses. I am so excited and honored to be able to serve as a delegate, and would be grateful to have your support. I will serve with integrity and make Texas proud!
