Hello,
My name is Roberto Alfaro. I am 23 years old, and I am a Self-Taught Freelance Photographer. I was born and raised on the South-Side of Chicago, and I am currently pursuing a passion of mine. I discovered photography only recently, and I am looking to impact my community in a positive way.
What
There are many organizations already helping to educate and inspire the youth of Chicago. There are many things I would like to accomplish in my city, and there are many events I would like to hold. This will be my first event, and I am looking to rent a Studio Space for 10 hrs for $750. All proceeds and any extra funds raised will be used to host an All Day All Ages Event and offer my services to the public. I am looking for Sponsors, Volunteers, and Partners; as well as other Creatives and Models. The idea is to create a colorful and interactive space to engage adults and children alike; to expose them to the creative and business side of photography and the arts.

-Free Family Photos
-Free Pet Photos
-Interactive Demos
-Talks From Professional Photographers, Models, and Videographers

Why
I wish I was exposed to the arts and photography at younger age; however, it is never too late to learn. There are many organizations and programs looking to address this issue, especially in Chicago. I have been looking for a way to engage and impact my city, and I believe I have found one. The Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE) has programs that improve students’ critical thinking, creative problem solving, and self confidence, which leads to higher achievement in the classroom and on standardized tests. Half of all proceeds will be donated to The Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE)

"As school budgets are slashed, principals and school communities are forced to make ever harder decisions about resources they can offer to their students and the training and support they can offer to their teaching staff, and art education funding is often first on the chopping block.CAPE’s students, teachers, and schools do not pay for our services! To ensure no school ever has to choose between CAPE and another external partnership, a field trip, or even a staff position, our programs are fully funded by grants and individuals like you who understand the importance of art education in our classrooms."
