Last week, Raul Corchuelo received the fantastic news that he and his partner Senorita (aka Samsara) have earned a spot on the Colombian Dressage Team for the Pan American Games being held in Lima, Peru July 26th through August 10th 2019. This exciting news would have never come without the generous support of Samsara’s owners. However, it takes a village to develop and compete a horse in international competitions.
Estimated costs for the horse/rider/groom teams are in excess of $30,000. While the Colombian Equestrian Federation and the Colombian Olympic Committee have agreed to fund a portion of the fees for each combination, unfortunately, this is only a fraction of the overall costs of the event.
While I am ever grateful for the support from my Federation and Olympic Committee, unfortunately the costs to attend this event far outweigh their ability to support each athlete. As a result, I am asking for support from my network to help cover the costs of this journey to one of the most important international competitions in the world.
